Timeless Sensemaking Skills for the Modern Sensemaker
Sensemaking may be timeless, but our messes are undeniably modern.
In this half-day workshop, Abby Covert invites you to slow down, zoom out, and strengthen the foundational skills that make clarity possible, no matter how complex the context.
You’ll explore four core abilities every modern sensemaker needs to stay grounded amid uncertainty: stakeholder management, incentive management, structural argumentation, and return on investment. Together, these skills form the connective tissue between clear thinking, effective communication, and meaningful progress.
Through short talks, reflective exercises, and applied practice, you’ll learn to reframe ambiguity into alignment and make better decisions with the humans around you. You’ll leave with practical tools for mapping incentives, crafting structural arguments, and demonstrating impact, but more importantly, with a renewed sense of confidence in your ability to lead with clarity.
This workshop is for anyone who makes sense for a living: designers, strategists, facilitators, educators, or leaders who want to bring timeless skills to their very modern work.
Workshop bonus: Attendees will receive the first prototype of Abby Covert’s new workbook, Timeless Sensemaking for Modern Sensemakers, along with a copy of Sensemaking: The Game, the hands-on activity at the core of her workshop. These early-release materials offer a sneak peek at Abby’s upcoming book, on which the workbook is based.
