Alba Villamil is an independent design researcher who specializes in making products and services for vulnerable and historically marginalized groups like refugees, domestic violence survivors, and families in the foster care system. She is also a partner and facilitator at HmntyCntrd where she helps companies cultivate a more trauma-informed approach to their design process and workplace culture. Through her work, she has collaborated with a mixture of community organizations, government agencies, and private sector companies like Patagonia, Instagram, and Capital One.
