From the Airport
After landing in Philadelphia, you’ll have two main options for getting to the hotel:
- Ground transportation: Follow signs to Ground Transportation for taxis or rideshare. Specific instructions are here. Expect to spend around $30-40 depending on the time of day.
- Public transit: You can catch SEPTA’s Regional Rail from most terminals, follow signs for Airport Regional Rail Line. Trains run every 30 minutes from 6am to midnight. Specific instructions are here. If you’re staying at the conference hotel, ride the line to Jefferson Station. From there, go up to street level and it will be an easy walk.
From Amtrak
If coming to Philadelphia by train, you will arrive at 30th Street Station. You will have two options from there:
- Ground transportation: When you emerge into the main hall of 30th Street Station, you will see signs for 29th Street and 30th Street — 29th Street is for calling a taxi, 30th street is for catching a rideshare. From there, it will be an approximately 10 minute ride.
- Public transit: When you emerge into the main hall of 30th Street Station, look for signs for SEPTA’s L line — you do not want to take Regional Rail. You will need to leave the building on the 30th Street side, cross Market Street, and descend into the L. Take the Eastbound L train towards Frankford Transportation Center and get off at 13th St. Station or 11th St. Station.
Public transit
Philadelphia’s public transit system (SEPTA) has several lines that could be relevant for your trip. It is recommended to use an app for checking transit schedules, such as Google Maps or Transit App. Septa.org also has real-time tracking tools. Trips on the below lines are $2.50 each way, with free transfers within one hour.
- Subway lines: L (Market-Frankford Line) and B (Broad Street Line)
- L (Market-Frankford Line) travels regularly East/West across Market Street. 11th and 13th street stations are easy walking distance from the Convention Center.
- B (Broad Street Line) travels regularly North/South under Broad Street.
- Bus: The most connected system in the city, which goes places where the subway doesn’t reach. We recommend using one of the transit apps mentioned above to keep track of the buses, as delays can be common during rush hour.
Note: SEPTA Regional Rail does go through Center City, but is generally meant for getting to the surrounding regions. It will be more expensive to ride, so we recommend using one of the above lines instead.
