(To report a safety issue, skip to Have a Safety Concern?)
The Information Architecture Conference (IAC) strives to build an inclusive culture of belonging that supports and celebrates voices in our community. We seek to invite, welcome, and empower attendees, volunteers, speakers, and presenters from different age ranges, gender identities, racial and ethnic groups, sexual orientations, physical or mental abilities, educational and professional backgrounds, and perspectives to engage with and enrich the conference community. We celebrate multiple points of view and believe diversity fuels innovation and closer connects us with our colleagues, companies, organizations, and the communities we serve.
Safety
Fostering Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Accessibility requires safe spaces where we can come together. Safety is also an extension of our IAC Vision & Values and Code of Conduct.
When we gather together, be it in-person or virtually, it is essential that all attendees feel safe and secure. This includes first timers, veteran attendees, students, presenters, sponsors, organizers and volunteers.
A safe environment is more welcoming and productive, enabling us to learn more, do more, and enjoy more time together as a community.
Have a safety concern?
The entire IAC team is committed to creating and maintaining safe spaces. If you have experienced or observed a safety issue, please let us know so that we can address the issue immediately. There are multiple options for reporting a safety concern:
- Complete the Safety Issue Report form
- Send an email to codeofconduct@theIAconference.com
- Contact the DEIB and Safety teams on Discord: #Safety-DEIB
You can also reach out directly to this year’s Co-Chairs, Advisory Board, and our event planning partners at Kunverj. Additionally, any IAC event volunteer can help you or point you to the reporting options.
IAC Scholarship Program
The IAC wants to make the conference more accessible to people of diverse backgrounds. Each year, the IAC Scholarship Program actively recruits and provides scholarships to students and professionals from backgrounds underrepresented at IAC to assist them with attending IAC and leadership positions within the IA community.
