Leading Up and Leading Down in the Org

2018 IA Summit

Cost

$650 USD

Time(s)

March 21, 2018
9:00 AM to 5:00 PM CT

Description

Well-mannered information architects can be found hidden away in a room constructing vocabularies, making up content models and doing whatever user analysis that gets assigned to them. This workshop is not for well-mannered information architects. It’s for the information architect who wants to get out and into the organization; to engage “upstream” with sponsors and stakeholders and fellow “downstream” contributors like designers and programmers. Come to this workshop with a project in mind and leave with a plan to storm your project team and get recognized in the enterprise!

In this workshop you will learn and practice:

  • How to present yourself to project sponsors and design for them
  • IA deliverables that define and guide a project
  • Create IA deliverables that communicate a project idea
  • How to move toward the center of any project you are in
  • How to sit at the table with techies and have something significant to say
  • Explore deliverables that bridge the logical world of the information architect and the physical world of implementers
