
Peter Morville
Peter Morville is a pioneering figure in information architecture. In 1993, he earned a graduate degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Michigan. In 1994, he co-founded Argus Associates with Louis Rosenfeld, applying library science principles to the structure and organization of the early Web. Together, they co-authored Information Architecture for the World Wide Web (1998), the field’s defining text. Morville went on to found Semantic Studios, advising clients such as AT&T, the Library of Congress, and Microsoft. He co-founded the Information Architecture Institute in 2002 and has authored several additional books, including Ambient Findability and Intertwingled. In 2024, he co-founded Sentient Sanctuary, a nonprofit think tank and animal sanctuary.
