IAC24 Main Conference Talk
Description
Love the idea of taxonomies but confused about how to implement one at your company? Maybe your company is already closer than you think. If your platform or product is built with metadata-driven data models, you might already have the structure for a taxonomy right there.
Data models and taxonomies have a lot in common, and a data model can be an extremely useful way to integrate yourself into the product development process and make sure the product is implementing good IA from the ground up. Learn the basics of what makes up a data model, why companies use them, and how you can bring your IA knowledge and best practices to influence them. I’ll also walk through a case study for a specific product, and how I directly influenced the data model to improve the end user experience and navigation.
