A Sensible Framework for Information Architecture Projects

IAC 2020

Time(s)

April 10, 2020

Description

Learn about a proven framework for structuring your next IA project. This talk will discuss a framework for structuring IA projects that has been successfully used for projects ranging from small targeted interventions to site redesigns to large scale restructuring of multi-site ecosystems. The framework was developed by a team of IAs and has been refined over the course of a hundred+ projects. The whole framework will be discussed, but particular emphasis will be on the early phases that help determine and define what is being architected before moving on to deciding how it will be architected. Real-world project examples will be used throughout.

Key takeaways from the session:

Advice on how to structure a successful IA project.
Examples of useful models for aligning and communicating work in progress.
Heuristics for deciding what kind of analysis to do and models to use based on the kind of project being done.
