Working in teams can be frustrating and unnecessarily difficult. Today’s organization requires teamwork, yet few are trained in how to lead or to effectively participate in teams.
Based on decades of empirical research and practical application, this talk presents ways to optimize team collaboration and provides a model to improve sense-making and wayfinding for team members and team leaders. The outcomes-based model provides a way for teams to think about collaboration that will improve team productivity, quality, consensus, and satisfaction.

About the speakers
Matt Arnold is the co-founder and Chief Catalyst at Spark Consulting Group. He has over 25 years of experience leading mission-critical projects for some of the world’s top brands. Matt has built and led multiple design teams focused on improving organizational effectiveness and business outcomes.
He holds a BA in Communication Studies from The University of Iowa and an MS from Illinois State University. His research focused on computer-augmented group decision-making. Matt is a Certified Usability Analyst (CUA) and Certified Experience Analyst (CXA) through Human Factors International. He earned his product management certification from the Pragmatic Institute. Additionally, Matt has in-depth design training from The Illinois Institute of Technology’s Institute of Design and is a trained Strategic Doing™ practitioner, trained by Purdue’s Agile Strategy Lab.
