Susan Kare is an artist and graphic designer who is best known for creating many of the interface elements for the Apple Macintosh in the 1980’s.

She is the founding partner of Susan Kare Design, a graphic design practice in San Francisco in 1989. Since then she has designed thousands of icons, corporate identities and other design projects for hundreds of clients, including Microsoft’s Solitaire cards and Facebook’s virtual gifts. Since 2011 she has been creating limited edition fine art icon prints at Kareprints.com. Currently she is a Lead Product Designer at Pinterest.
