Kim Mats Mats

Kim has been a research and design practitioner and leader for over twenty years. With a background in IA and taxonomy, she specializes in helping companies unravel complex problems and work collaboratively to create human-centered solutions. In her most recent role as UX Director with Kaiser Permanente, she led product designers to create features that improve the member experience like understanding health plan benefits, finding care options, and getting care while traveling.
Kim is a co-author of the forthcoming O’Reilly book, “UX Skills for Business Strategy” and is a board member of the MLIS program at the University of Washington’s Information School. She lives in Seattle, where you can find her hiking, bicycling, and roasting (and drinking) coffee.
