
Past roles: poster presenter
Jan Ballard holds a BFA from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She joined the Texas Christian University (TCU) faculty in 1986. Since then she has taught and assisted in the development of courses including Communication Graphics, Typography, Corporate Identity, Publication Design, Professional Recognition, Portfolio and Marketing, and Senior Thesis. In 2019, TCU awarded Ballard the Deans’ Teaching Award. In the same year she was honored by the Tenth District of the American Advertising Federation as the Educator of the Year Ballard is a frequent presenter at TypeCon Educator Forum sponsored by the Society of Typographic Aficionados (SoTA). The University & College Designers Association (UCDA) selected her abstract for presentation at their Design Education Summit. For the past three years, she has presented at the National Student Show and Conference (NSSC), Educator Forum. She presented a poster at the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) Design Educators Community (DEC) sponsored “Converge: Disciplinarities and Digital Scholarship” Conference at the University of Southern California’s (USC’s) School of Cinematic Arts (SCA). She has presented at Big Design Conference in Texas.
