Heidi Sandler


Heidi Sandler, Ed.D, is a senior technical writer in the Chicago suburbs with over 25 years of experience in writing, training, public speaking, and meeting facilitation. She also runs the writing program at Rise Out, a nonprofit organization that offers classes and consulting to teenagers who have elected to leave traditional school and pursue alternative education paths. Heidi collaborated on the writing and editing of Wanderlust, a family memoir, and edited Steamscapes: North America and Steamscapes: Asia, alternative history/steampunk game-setting books. She has a Doctorate of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (Adult Education) from Aurora University. Heidi’s professional interests include qualitative research, Agile/Scrum methodologies, innovation, organizational culture, and accessibility. In her free time, she is a board game geek, a karaoke singer, a hobby baker, and a devoted Oma (grandmother).
