Heather has been creating and editing taxonomies for over 28 years and has recently returned to independent consulting, doing business as Hedden Information Management. Prior roles have included Senior Consultant at Enterprise Knowledge, Knowledge Engineer at Semantic Web Company, and Senior Vocabulary Editor at Cengage/Gale.
Heather has designed and developed taxonomies, thesauri, ontologies, and metadata schema for internal and externally published content, including for websites, intranets, and various content management systems. She gives workshops on taxonomy creation through various organizations, corporate training, and as an independent online course. She enjoys international travel and has given presentations and workshops in various countries. Heather is author of The Accidental Taxonomist, 3rd ed, and writes a blog of the same name.
