Dechen Nagi is a master’s student specializing in Information Architecture (IA) at Emily Carr University. With a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design and a current role at Amazon, Dechen brings an interdisciplinary approach to IA, combining creative design principles with data-driven insights. Her research focuses on optimizing user experience through taxonomies, ontologies, and systems thinking, with a particular interest in creating interconnected, embodied experiences across digital and physical spaces.

Dechen has conducted projects and workshops for both undergraduate students and industry professionals, exploring the impact of hierarchical and faceted navigation systems on user experience. She has developed a unique design framework that applies the visual and structural elements of fashion design to information systems, making IA more intuitive and engaging. Dechen’s work showcases how diverse perspectives can drive innovation and enrich the evolving field of IA.
