
Marilyn Ortega
Mari is a graduating Human-Computer Interaction Master’s student from UMD, with past degrees in Immersive Media Design, Professional Writing, and Computer Science. Combining expertise in UX research and design, technology development, and multimedia arts, she creates user-centered experiences across wireframing, prototyping, information architecture, branding, and visual design.
With her undying love (and some would argue, addiction) for video games and game design, growing up with family board games and extremely competitive Mario Kart, and wants to uncover its practical cases for immersive user engagement. She explores how game design principles, including gamification and video game UI classifications, can inform and expand traditional information architecture practices.
