Thank you to everyone who submitted a poster proposal. Join us on April 21st, 2022 at 7:00 PM ET to see what others from the IA community are thinking about and working on. Posters will be available throughout the conference.

Poster Night is a fun and rewarding experience for first-time presenters and experienced practitioners alike.
Posters are a low barrier-to-entry way to present your work and ideas at a major international conference.
You’ll get to know the community and share your insights with people who are interested in your topic, all in a relaxed and engaging online setting.
Poster Night was a great opportunity to showcase work and get immediate feedback, questions and advice from knowledgeable peers – wonderful to see the range of work and passionate projects going on across the global IA family.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Poster Night?
It’s a sort of science fair for adults. Presenters display a poster-form visual that represents a case study, a technique, an idea, or an interesting set of research findings. Attendees move from poster to poster and engage with the presenters about the topics that look most interesting to them. It’s an easy-going, social way to exchange ideas on a wide range of topics.
When is Poster Night?
Thursday, April 21st from 6:00 – 7:30 pm ET / 3:00 – 4:30 PT.
How will it work in an online conference?
Poster Night will be held in real-time in an online, interactive environment that allows each presenter to present their poster in their own virtual kiosk. We are using the Gather platform which allows presenters and attendees to talk without overlapping other presenters and attendees. The Gather Poster session will be set up in a Poster Hall, much like our analog real space, allowing attendees to browse and look at posters and then come close to have conversations with presenters.

What do I do as a presenter?
Prior to the event, you’ll finalize your poster and your talking points. We will work with you to get your poster and other materials online and practice using the platform so you’re ready for the Poster Night event.
Am I eligible for a conference discount?
If you present a poster, we’ll give you a discount code for conference registration.
How complete does my poster need to be before I submit a proposal?
You don’t need a finished poster to submit. All you need is a concept. If your idea is accepted, you’ll need to send a draft of your poster for review by March 20th, 2022.
I’ve never presented a poster before. How should I prepare?
If your poster is accepted, we’ll send you a how-to packet on preparing your poster and talking points. We’ll have a technical rehearsal to get you comfortable with the tools we’re using to create the online environment.
What is the format for poster presentations? How big can my poster be?
Each presenter gets space in an online presentation hall in Gather. Posters should be sized to display in a web browser. They can be either horizontal or vertical.
When do I set up my poster?
Presenters can upload their posters between April 1 and April 14, 2022. We will have a technical rehearsals before Poster Night so you can be comfortable using and moving about the virtual Poster Session environment.
Will I be listed on the website?
Yes! A list of all poster presenters will be on the website, so you can announce your participation on all your social channels. If you’re selected to participate, we will need a headshot and short bio from you for the presenters page.
We also archive all the posters.
How long is Poster Night?
Poster Night runs from 6:00 – 7:30 PM ET / 3:00 – 4:30 PM PT. Please plan to stay the whole time.
What else do I need to know?
Presenters and all attendees are expected to adhere to the conference Code of Conduct.
Submit your poster concept before February 27, 2022.
What’s it really like?
New to the IA / UX / tech community? In the midst of a job change that you don’t want to talk about? Have an idea you want to share, but haven’t fully fleshed out? If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, then submit a poster.
