Social Activities

Design professionals aren’t one-dimensional beings. We’re well-rounded individuals, with loads of disparate interests. The IA conference (IAC) honors this fact with mixers and activities aimed at the more creative, social side of our attendees. And, to be honest, what better way is there to network than to just cut loose and have fun with 300 of your new best friends in a low-stress, low-pressure atmosphere?

Acoustic Jam

Enjoy the hidden musical talents of some of our own. Bring your acoustic instrument of choice or just sing along! Want to lead a song or two? Be prepared to teach others chords and lyrics. Don’t worry if you haven’t tried something like this before—everyone’s welcome, including non-musicians. We’re all in this together!

Karaoke

With this crowd, your karaoke song is a 100% guarantee of success. The only barrier between curious audience member and adored stage performer is you.

Polar Bear 5K

Join Peter Morville and Louis Rosenfeld for a virtual run through the IAC neighborhood.

Polar Bear Yoga

Join us for early morning yoga sessions designed to focus your mind and spirit. The sessions will be led by a local certified yoga instructor.

Game Night

Bring out your inner gamer with popular board and card games. Perfect for introverts, or for those taking a short (or long) break from karaoke.

5-Minute Madness

An informal sharing time of awesomeness. After the last keynote and conference closing, anyone is welcome to come on stage to share anything they like. It’s an amazing time where you can feel the IAC community togetherness. People share what the conference means to them, tell stories stories, do interpretive dance, explain ways to get more involved with the IA community – you name it, it’s shared during 5-minute madness. Not to be missed!
